PVP/VA I-335 is a linear, random copolymer produced by the free-radical polymerization of vinyl acetate (VA) and vinylpyrrolidone (VP) in a 35/65 ratio. It produces transparent, flexible, oxygen-permeable glossy films which adhere well to various substrates. Being soluble in alcohols, esters and ketones, PVP/VA I-335 finds extensive use as a binder where its film properties help provide durability and adhesion. Its ability to control hydrophilicity also makes it suitable for applications involving moisture resistance. PVP/VA I-335 has good cohesive and adhesive properties, helps reduce surface tension and interfaces, thereby improving workability of formulations for various end-use products.
