N-DODECYLMERCAPTAN NS

N-DODECYLMERCAPTAN, also known as lauryl mercaptan, is a linear C12 mercaptan chemical product used as a chain transfer agent to control polymer molecular weight in radical polymerization processes for synthetic rubbers and polymers. It is also used as a chemical reactant in manufacturing antioxidants. As a tertiary collector, N-DODECYLMERCAPTAN is formulated in flotation processes for recovery of sulfide ores. Due to its ability to perform standard reactions of primary mercaptans, the product is beneficial in the advanced materials industry for addition on double bonds, reactions with aldehydes and ketones to form thioacetals and thioketals, and formation of metal-mercaptide salts.
